Analysis of the Youth Centres Mapping data
The NGO Estonian Association of Open Youth Centres (Eesti ANK or EANK) is a nationwide advocacy organization that unites youth centers across Estonia. Eesti ANK focuses on representing youth work institutions and their staff, organizing professional development for youth workers, and developing open youth centers as part of the youth work structure.
To gain a better understanding of the current situation in youth centers, Eesti ANK has periodically conducted mapping studies. The most recent and comprehensive mapping took place in 2023-2024, involving an online survey and on-site observations. Through this project, IBS will help analyze the collected data and, where possible, compare it with previous data. The aim of the project is to provide a county-by-county overview of the current situation of youth centers. Thereby it offers a better understanding of the diversity and development potential of youth centers.
The analysis includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis of the survey results, analysis of observation sheets, and focus group interviews with those conducting the on-site observations.
This project is important as it provides a comprehensive overview of the current state and development opportunities of youth centers, thereby helping to improve the quality of youth work. It also supports national policy-making by providing valuable information for planning future investments and development of youth centers.
