Nastja joined IBS in 2011, leading a project aimed at strengthening the connections between civil society and science. Civil society, engagement, and education are the topics she enjoys working on the most. However, her greatest expertise lies in migration and integration issues. Nastja prefers to use qualitative methods as her tools and is keen on continuously developing her skills in this area.
She studied Scandinavian Studies and Change Management in Society at the University of Tartu, focusing on analyzing changes holistically by applying knowledge from economics, politics, law, communication, and psychology. Nastja is also the founder and director of the Tartu International House.
Before joining IBS, Nastja was actively involved in the field of environmental protection, and her connection to nature remains very important to her. Wandering in the forest, a good sci-fi novel, and socially conscious hip-hop are her best remedies for overworking.
