Andra has been working at IBS since 2015. Her field of expertise includes international projects related to smart cities, green mobility, and sustainable development, where she has worked both as a project manager and analyst, in addition to writing projects herself. Andra has a particular interest in activating and engaging communities, as well as engagement and co-creation, and she has contributed to the creation of several handbooks and toolkits on these topics. As a professional translator, she also supports IBS’s work as a translator and language editor.
Among other roles, Andra has held positions such as program manager at the BuildIt hardware accelerator, analyst and business consultant at the Baltic Innovation Agency, instructor at a language school in Japan, and freelance translator and editor. As a volunteer, she contributes to several animal welfare organizations and gives talks in schools about language, culture, and entrepreneurship.
Andra holds a bachelor’s degree in English philology from the University of Tartu and a master’s degree in English translation. She has furthered her studies at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan, where she completed a one-year program in Japanese language and culture and Asian studies. From 2013 to 2016, she was also a student representative on the council of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tartu. Andra has completed several additional training programs in project management, innovation, design, and communication.
In her free time, Andra enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, reading copious amounts of science fiction and fantasy literature, and cooking.
