Kertu has been an Analyst and Project Writer at the Institute of Baltic Studies since 2014. She is passionate about everything related to smart cities, entrepreneurship, and innovation – from cutting-edge urban solutions to new business models and technologies. Her daily work involves planning, preparing, and managing international cooperation, innovation, and research projects, with a strong focus on the Horizon Europe programme.

Academically, Kertu has a deep-rooted interest in the Baltic Sea region. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Tartu in Baltic Sea Region Studies, where she explored international relations, history, economics, environment, and politics.

Outside of work, Kertu is a food enthusiast who loves experimenting with new recipes, diving into the history of gastronomy, or simply chatting about great places to eat. If you ever want to exchange cooking tips or discuss the latest food trends, she’s always up for a good conversation!
