Kristiina Toomik

Analyst



Kristiina is an analyst at the Institute of Baltic Studies since 2021 when she completed her bachelor’s internship at IBS. As an analyst, she has contributed to several studies on migration, integration, and education, primarily using qualitative research methods.

Kristiina holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies at the University of Tartu. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in internal security at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. In her thesis, she examines the securitization of Ukrainian war refugees in Estonia’s alternative media.

In addition to her work at IBS, Kristiina enjoys working out, reading books, baking cakes, and discussing domestic and foreign policy issues with friends. She is also a member of the organizing team of the NGO MetsaĆ¼likool Eestis (Forest University in Estonia).
