Maria has been working at the Institute of Baltic Studies since 2021. She is originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in international economic relations. She moved to Estonia in 2019 and earned a master’s degree in international relations and regional studies from the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies at the University of Tartu, specializing in the European Union.
At IBS, Maria primarily focuses on migration, as well as studying the integration of new immigrants and refugees. She is particularly interested in the connections between integration and language and the labor market. Additionally, she is passionate about project management and event organization.
In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with friends and family, discovering new hobbies, writing, and traveling to new places.
