Migration as a Part of a Policy for Increased Competitiveness
The project Migration as a Part of a Policy for Increased Competitiveness is aimed to put research based knowledge in a dialogue on migration as a part of a strategy for regional competitiveness and higher employment. The key question for the project is how the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea could learn to make the most of the human capital, native and foreign-born, at their disposal.
The first conference After the Crisis: Migration, Austerity and New Challenges to Sustainability in the Baltic Sea States was held in Stockholm in December 2012. The second seminar A new era in integration policies in the Baltic Sea countries? was held in Tallinn in 2013. The third expert seminar was held in Vilnius.
Global Challenge’s migration network around the Baltic Sea is funded by the Swedish Institute.
